Late field goal earns Iowa State the Pop-Tarts Crazy Good Play of the Week

DALLAS (FWAA) – Florida Citrus Sports and Pop-Tarts have teamed up to present the Pop-Tarts ‘Crazy Good’ Play of the Week during the 2024-25 college football season, with each week's play selected in conjunction with the Football Writers Association of America.

Now in its second season, the award celebrates incredible athleticism, awe-inspiring strategy and jaw-dropping “did you see that?” moments from across the college football landscape each week.

Iowa State is the winner of the Pop-Tarts Crazy Good Play of the Week for Week 2.

Redshirt freshman walk-on kicker Kyle Konrardy from Dubuque nailed a 54-yard field goal with six seconds remaining to cap a 20-19 comeback win at rival Iowa. The Cyclones trailed 13-0 at the half and 19-7 with 4:47 left in the third quarter. Konrardy, who missed a 41-yard attempt on the first half's final play, was instrumental in the comeback, adding a 46-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter.

Konrardy, who attempted the first three field goals of his career on Saturday, is raising money for Count the Kicks, a life-saving stillbirth prevention campaign of the nonprofit organization Healthy Birth Day, Inc. Count the Kicks teaches expecting parents about the importance of tracking their baby's movements (and kicks!)

Throughout the season, the FWAA is announcing the Pop-Tarts Crazy Good Play of the Week at the conclusion of each week's games, after the FWAA All-America committee selects one outstanding play each weekend during the regular season. All NCAA Division I schools are eligible

To celebrate the honor, each winning team receives a care package of Pop-Tarts toaster pastries.

The Pop-Tarts Crazy Good Play of the Week follows Pop-Tarts' entry into college football with the Pop-Tarts Bowl, organized and managed by Florida Citrus Sports, and fans can nominate their favorite plays through the Pop-Tarts social medi aaccounts (@PopTartsBowl).
