Wake Forest (10-1) tops NCBWA Division I Poll

DALLAS (NCBWA) – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association continues its tradition of NCAA Division I polls for the 27th year with its 2024 weekly surveys.

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons (10-1) stayed at No. 1 for the fourth week in succession after posting a 4-0 mark last week. Arkansas moved into the No. 5 position, and Texas A&M notched its top placement of the season at No. 6.

Some of the big movers from Week Three to Week Four were Clemson from No. 11 back into the Top 10 at nine, NC State from No. 19 to 15, DBU from No. 23 to 18, UC Irvine from No. 25 to 22, and Florida State (now at 21) and Kentucky (at 25) advancing from receiving votes to the Top 25. Those latter two teams mentioned are a combined 20-1 to start the campaign.

There have been 11 conferences (eight this week) represented in the first four standings of 2024, and there were 15 different conferences in the 2023 NCBWA polls.

The 2024 poll voters come from among 33 college baseball writers and related media persons from throughout the nation. 

The ’24 season features 305 NCAA Division I baseball-playing schools
