WINGATE, N.C. (NCBWA) – For the 14th straight week, the University of Tampa Spartans are the top-ranked team in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America (NCBWA) top 25 poll. Tampa received 19 of the 20 first-place votes, making this just the fourth time in the last 13 weeks UT has not been the unanimous number one team this season. The Spartans are 43-7 on the season and have been the top-ranked team in every in-season NCBWA poll this year, after checking in at #3 in the preseason poll.
The top five are the same as last week as we enter NCAA Regional play this week. Missouri Southern and Saint Leo flipped spots at six and seven, while Catawba jumps up five spots to check in at number nine this week. Saginaw Valley State rounds out the top 10, moving up six spots.
Colorado Mesa is another big riser, checking in at 12th this week after ranking 19th last week. Molly moves up eight spots from #22 to #14, while Cal State Monterey checks in at #17 this week after receiving votes last week. Embry-Riddle, Arkansas Tech, Northwest Nazarene and Millersville are also new to this week’s poll.
This is the final poll until after the national championships. The NCBWA committees will be releasing All-Region and All-American teams in the next week.

Founded in 1962, the NCBWA is dedicated to the advancement of college baseball. Membership is open to writers, broadcasters and publicists of the sport. Members receive a membership card, directory, newsletter updates and official votes in the Dick Howser Trophy, Regional Players of the Year and NCBWA All-America voting. The NCBWA also sponsors Division I Players of the Week, the Stopper of the Year, and publication and writing contests.
