Tennessee (46-10) tops NCBWA Division I Poll

DALLAS (NCBWA) – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association continues its tradition of NCAA Division I polls for the 27th year with its 2024 weekly surveys.

Tennessee remains No. 1 for the third straight week, while Kentucky jumped one spot to a season-best No. 2. Texas A&M is No. 3, Clemson is No. 4 and Arkansas is No. 5, as NCAA Division I conference tournaments begin.

Some of the big movers from week 13 to week 14 are Clemson from No. 7 to 4, East Carolina from No. 14 to 11, Oklahoma from No. 15 to 12, NC State from No. 21 to 14, UC Santa Barbara from No. 19 to 15, and DBU and Texas from receiving votes to Nos. 24-25, respectively, among others.

There have been 12 conferences (nine this week) represented in the first 10 standings of 2024, and there were 15 different conferences in the 2023 NCBWA polls.

The 2024 poll voters come from among 33 college baseball writers and related media persons from throughout the nation. The ’24 season features 305 NCAA Division I baseball-playing schools.

Founded in 1962, the NCBWA is dedicated to the advancement of college baseball. Membership is open to writers, broadcasters and publicists of the sport. Members receive a membership card, directory, newsletter updates and official votes in the Dick Howser Trophy, Regional Players of the Year and NCBWA All-America voting. The NCBWA also sponsors Division I Players of the Week, the Stopper of the Year, and publication and writing contests.
