The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) released its Dick Howser Trophy National Player of the Week awards presented by The Game Headwear for the period ending Feb. 18. Santa Clara senior outfielder JonJon Berring was named National Hitter of the Week, while Florida State sophomore right-handed pitcher Cam Leiter named National Pitcher of the Week

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association continues its tradition of NCAA Division I polls for the 25th year with its 2023 weekly surveys. LSU was selected as preseason No. 1 by NCBWA pollsters and maintained that status for four months before Wake Forest (the No. 1 seed in the NCAA Championship) gained the No. 1 slot on May 8. The Tigers (54-17) overall then outlasted runner-up Florida 4-3 (11 innings) and 18-4 in Games 1 and 3 of the championship round of the NCAA World Series on June 24 and 26, while falling 24-4 in the middle game of that hard-fought trio. The Gators finished with an identical 54-17 overall mark with LSU.

After tying the program record with 51 wins and leading the program to its first College World Series appearance since 1978, Oral Roberts head coach Ryan Folmar has been named the 2023 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Mike Martin National Coach of the Year.

Oral Roberts’ Cade Denton received 2023 Stopper of the Year honors by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), the organization announced Friday. He is the first player from the Summit League to receive the award since the Stopper of the Year debuted in 2005.  

LSU pitching standout and consensus All-American Paul Skenes is the 36th recipient of the 2023 Dick Howser Trophy presented by The Game Headwear.

A perfect run through the NCAA Division II National Championships cemented a No. 1 finish in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II Top 25 as the Angelo State Rams raked in all 20 first-place votes to reign supreme in the final edition of the national ranking on Thursday.

With some of nation’s most talented NCAA Division I players featured, the 2023 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association’s 23rd Annual All-America first, second and third teams were revealed Wednesday. There are 21 different conferences and 18 conference championship squads represented among the ’23 honorees. The three All-America squads are also made up of 12 conference players or co-players of the year, 14 conference pitchers of the year and two conference relief pitchers of the year.

Georgia outfielder Charlie Condon and Nicholls State right-hander Jacob Mayers have been named the 2023 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association National Freshman Hitter and Pitcher of the Year recipients, as announced by the organization today.

Thirty-four standout freshmen from every part of the country are featured on the 2023 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Freshman All-America Team, the organization announced today.

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association announced its 25th Annual District Players of the Year for all nine districts for the 2023 season.

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and the Dick Howser Trophy Committee have named the five finalists for the 36th Dick Howser Trophy presented by The Game Headwear as the national player of the year. The five finalists for the Howser Trophy, which has been presented since 1987 except for the 2020 COVID-shortened season, are sophomore 1B/SP Jac Caglianone of Florida, junior OF Dylan Crews of LSU, junior SP Rhett Lowder of Wake Forest, SP junior Paul Skenes of LSU and sophomore 2B JJ Wetherholt of West Virginia.

Ten relievers have been named finalists for the 18th NCBWA Stopper of the Year Award, given to the top relief pitcher in NCAA Division I Baseball.

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association has named its Dick Howser Trophy Players of the Month for May, presented by The Game Headwear, tabbing Stanford outfielder/catcher Alberto Rios its national player of the month and Indiana State’s Connor Fenlong its national pitcher of the month.

The NCBWA has announced its 2023 Division II All-America Team and indivdual honors.

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) released its Dick Howser Trophy National Player of the Week awards presented by The Game Headwear for the period ending May 21. UT Rio Grande Valley graduate student first baseman Brandon Pimentel was named National Hitter of the Week, while Southern Miss right-handed pitcher Tanner Hall and  Tennessee junior right-handed pitcher Andrew Lindsey were named Co-National Pitchers of the Week.

The Dick Howser Trophy Committee, in conjunction with the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce, has released the list of semifinalists for the 2023 Dick Howser Trophy presented by The Game Headwear. The most prestigious award in college baseball is given to the top player based on two rounds of national voting.
